Borrowers see a clean funnel; the underwriting team sees a pipeline. The mistake would have been treating one as the real product and the other as an afterthought. Both had to be first-class, because the funnel earns the application and the pipeline closes the loan.

This system connects people in police custody to an attorney, around the clock. There is no 'we'll fix it Monday' for someone sitting in a precinct. Every retry, fallback, and escalation rule had to be modeled explicitly, because the cost of a dropped call isn't a bad metric, it's a person without counsel.

For eight years I was the financial analyst startups couldn't afford to hire. Building Forge BI, the hard part was never the AI. It was the schema. Name your tables the way an analyst actually thinks and the model starts reasoning in the founder's language instead of generic BI.

Everyone building on models right now is arguing about how to make them more reliable. This project takes the other side: assume the generator is unreliable and put something in front of it that cannot be talked out of a decision. The gate here has no model in it, so a fabricated statute is not a judgement call about hallucination risk. It is a failed substring match. What surprised me is how much that changes where the remaining risk sits, and how honest you have to be about the part the gate still cannot see.
